East Lansing Trojans Varsity Wins Back-And-Forth Affair Against Everett
East Lansing Trojans Varsity and Everett traded the lead back-and-forth on Tuesday, but eventually East Lansing Trojans Varsity prevailed 17-12. East Lansing Trojans Varsity took the lead for good in the second inning. The game was tied at four with East Lansing Trojans Varsity batting in the top of the second when Courtney Bertsch singled off of Herrera, driving in one run.
East Lansing Trojans Varsity grabbed an early lead. East Lansing Trojans Varsity scored on a walk in the first inning, a double by Lyric Roper in the second inning, a single in the second inning, a single by Courtney Bertsch in the second inning, a single by Audrey Westfall in the second inning, a single by Amelia Arnold in the second inning, and a single by Amelia Elkins in the second inning.
East Lansing Trojans Varsity took an early lead in the first inning. A wild pitch by McLane scored one run for East Lansing Trojans Varsity.
After East Lansing Trojans Varsity scored one run in the top of the seventh, Everett answered with one of their own. East Lansing Trojans Varsity scored when Herrera uncorked a wild pitch, scoring one run. Everett then answered when Ellie Myron walked Hernandez to drive in a run.
East Lansing Trojans Varsity took the lead for good with seven runs in the second inning. In the second Roper doubled off of Herrera, driving in one run, Herrera uncorked a wild pitch, scoring one run, Westfall singled off of Herrera, driving in one run, Arnold singled off of Herrera, driving in two runs, and Elkins singled off of Herrera, driving in one run.
Myron earned the win for East Lansing Trojans Varsity. She pitched seven innings, giving up 12 runs, six hits, and striking out eight. Herrera took the loss for Everett. She tossed six innings, allowing 15 runs, 15 hits, and striking out one.
East Lansing Trojans Varsity had 17 hits in the game. Bertsch, Arnold, Westfall, Roper, Myron, and Megan Nichols each collected multiple hits for East Lansing Trojans Varsity. Arnold and Bertsch each managed three hits to lead East Lansing Trojans Varsity.
