Eligibility and Fees

Eligibility All student athletes must be currently enrolled in East Lansing High School and must
meet the following criteria to tryout and/or play an interscholastic sport:
1.         Have a current completed physical on file in the athletic office
2.         Physicals must be taken on or after April 15, 2017 to be considered current

Students in grades 10 through 12 and all 9th grade students who have attended another high school
MUST review eligibility with the Athletic Director prior to participation.

Pay to Participate fee is *$275 PER SCHOOL YEAR per student. Family Cap $650 Pay to Participate fee
is due prior to first scheduled competition date.
*** Other fees may apply depending on your sport***
All financial assistance waiver requests must be submitted in writing to the
ELHS Athletic Office. Waivers are granted for students who receive free or reduced lunch and those
who demonstrate need. Free and reduced lunch application forms are available on the Food Service
page at or call the Food Service Office (333- 7473).

The East Lansing Public Schools does not carry supplemental insurance for student- athletes.
Uninsured and/or under insured student athletes will be participating at your risk.

New Physicals are required each year. Sports Physicals will be offered at East Lansing High School.
Physicals are $25.00.
You must have a physical to participate in any practice or tryout session. Physicals must have been
taken after April 15, 2017 to be valid for the 2017-2018 school year.
