The East Lansing Boys Basketball team advanced to the district semifinals with a 53-27 win over Dewitt on Monday night. The game was a defensive struggle from the opening tip and Dewitt led at halftime 13-11 in front of their home crowd. The Trojans picked up the offense in the second half and maintained defensive pressure all night and ran away from the Panthers. The Trojans were led by senior Noah Schon with 10 second half points and a game high 13 points. Brandon Johns scored 10 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Malik Jones the scored 6 points and was the Trojans floor and inspirational leader. Coming off the bench Joe Benbrahem hit two timely 3- point shots and played great defense.
The Trojans will play again on Wednesday night at Dewitt High School at 7:30 PM against the St. Johns Redwings. The first game of the night will feature the Grand Ledge Comets and Waverly Warriors, that game tips off at 6:00 PM. The two semifinal winners will play at Dewitt on Friday at 7:00 PM the district championship.
