Game Recap

East Lansing saw its season come to an end on Friday night at the hands of Harper Creek by a score of 16-13. East Lansing led the whole game, until the final minute when Harper Creek scored the go-ahead touchdown. It was a real tough way to see the season end for the Trojans. The Trojans took control of the scoreboard on the opening drive, going 80 yards, culminating with a one yard run by Kobe Hayward. That lead stood as they went into halftime. The Trojans added to their lead in the 3rd quarter when Connor Charamella connected with Blake Underwood for a 21 yard touchdown pass. However, Harper Creek scored 16 unanswered points in the 4th quarter starting with a safety when East Lansing was called for intentional grounding. The ensuing kickoff gave Harper Creek a short field which they quickly converted into a 5 yard touchdown run. Harper Creek then executed an onside kick to setup the winning drive. East Lansing had an opportunity in the closing seconds but were intercepted in the end zone. East Lansing was led on the defensive side by Roy Bellamy-Crawford (13 tackles), Blake Underwood (11 tackles), and Jamar Mills (11 tackles). Kobe Hayward recovered two fumbles and Spencer Tyler was credited with an interception.
