East Lansing Trojans Varsity stole the lead late and defeated Holt 8-1 on Monday. The game was tied at one with East Lansing Trojans Varsity batting in the top of the sixth when Sam Busch tripled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
East Lansing Trojans Varsity secured the victory thanks to five runs in the seventh inning. The offensive firepower by East Lansing Trojans Varsity was led by Benno Staszewski and Busch, all driving in runs in the frame.
Holt got things moving in the first inning, when Max Darling grounded out, scoring one run.
East Lansing Trojans Varsity evened things up at one in the top of the second inning. East Lansing Trojans Varsity scored one run when Aiden Rudy singled.

Braeden Emery took the loss for Holt. He lasted six and a third innings, allowing nine hits and seven runs while striking out five.
East Lansing Trojans Varsity racked up ten hits. Jack Belloli, Busch, and Will Knapp all managed multiple hits for East Lansing Trojans Varsity. Knapp, Busch, and Belloli each managed two hits to lead East Lansing Trojans Varsity. East Lansing Trojans Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Busch had the most chances in the field with nine.
Logan Vanenkevort led Holt with two hits in three at bats.
