East Lansing Trojans Varsity beat Waverly 6-2 on Thursday.
In the first inning, Waverly got their offense started when Derrick Bell singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
East Lansing Trojans Varsity put up three runs in the sixth inning. East Lansing Trojans Varsity batters contributing to the big inning included Sam Busch, Louis Booth, and Aiden Rudy, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Ethan Cullen was the winning pitcher for East Lansing Trojans Varsity. He allowed six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking one.
Eddie Banda took the loss for Waverly. He lasted six innings, allowing 11 hits and six runs while striking out six.
East Lansing Trojans Varsity racked up 11 hits on the day. Benno Staszewski, Will Knapp, and Sam Watters each racked up multiple hits for East Lansing Trojans Varsity. Staszewski went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead East Lansing Trojans Varsity in hits. East Lansing Trojans Varsity stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Knapp led the way with two.
RJ Ostrom led Waverly with two hits in four at bats.
