EAST LANSING- The Trojans rebounded from a tough loss in the opener of the EL Tournament and outlasted the Oilers of Mt. Pleasant 1-0.
After a scoreless first half, Kali Francisco put the ball by the Oiler keeper with about five minutes to play. The Trojans saw excellent play from Taylor Ooten, Tyller Schlesinger and Hayley Helm. The shutout was led by a strong defensive front of Maddey Crane, Grace Kelley and Livi Ooten.
Emily Everest and Hope Dwyer split the shutout.
East Lansing will travel to St. Johns on Monday. The varsity will play the first game at 4PM.
East Lansing is 3-2 and 0-0 in the CAAC Blue. The JV team picked up thier first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Mt. Pleasant.
