Haslett Captures Lead Early To Defeat East Lansing Trojans Varsity
East Lansing Trojans Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 11-4 loss to Haslett on Tuesday. Haslett scored on a single by Caitlyn Traviglia in the first inning, a error in the first inning, a error in the second inning, and a single by Liv Goeman in the second inning.
The East Lansing Trojans Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Haslett, giving up 11 runs.
Haslett opened up scoring in the first inning. Haslett scored one run when Traviglia singled.
Haslett scored five runs in the fourth inning. Haslett’s big inning was driven by singles by Traviglia and Sarah Bresnahan, doubles by Jessica Beaulieu and Jayna Henry, and a triple by Goeman.
#15 led the Haslett to victory on the pitcher’s mound. She allowed six hits and three runs over six innings, striking out four.
Gracie Danziger took the loss for East Lansing Trojans Varsity. She allowed 11 hits and 11 runs over seven innings, striking out 11.
East Lansing Trojans Varsity tallied eight hits in the game. Danziger and Megan Nichols all collected multiple hits for East Lansing Trojans Varsity. Nichols and Danziger each collected two hits to lead East Lansing Trojans Varsity. East Lansing Trojans Varsity stole four bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Alexis Johnson led the way with two.
Haslett scattered 11 hits in the game. Traviglia, Abby Boss, Goeman, and Beaulieu each managed multiple hits for Haslett. Traviglia led Haslett with three hits in five at bats. Haslett was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Bresnahan made the most plays with eight.
