OKEMOS- The Trojan boys soccer team won the 2018 Capital Area Activities Conference championship on Tuesday night with a victory over a very strong defensive Haslett Viking team 1-0.
After a scoreless first half, in which East Lansing found themselves on their heels for most of that time, East Lansing took that time to regroup. In the second half, the Trojan attack created some chances and after a foul near the top of the box, Sam Morse blasted a free kick in the back of the net to give the Trojans a 1-0 lead.
That’s all the Trojans would need as Nekko Criswell-Grinage played another outstanding game picking up 8 saves with Morse, Paul Carney, Aiden Rudy and Will Knapp keeping the Viking attack in check. Criswell-Grinage made two point blank saves to help preserve the shutout.
East Lansing concludes it’s regular season with a 15-1-2 record and will play at Ionia next Tuesday to start district play.
