EAST LANSING- The Trojan girls soccer team celebrated it’s seniors by scoring five goals en route to a 5-2 win over the Grand Ledge Comets.
The Trojans found themselves down 1-0 early until Soraya Timms poked one past the Comets keeper to tie the game. Moments later, Taylor Ooten scored off a pass from Timms to give the Trojans the 2-1 lead. Grand Ledge fought back to tie it on a set piece.
After a halftime celebration of Julia Chenault, Eleanor Carr and Sasha Rosa. East Lansing took to the pitch with determination. Timms found herself on the scoreboard again after a pass from Sasha Rosa. Picking up the hat trick, Timms found her third goal on a pass from Eva Tyszkiewski. Chenault ended the night by scoring her seventh goal of the season and giving the Trojans a 5-2 win.
Grace Kelley, Livi Novello, Maddey Crane, Maddie Greene and Riley Crane held the Comet attack in check. Hope Dwyer had one save and Emily Everest had three.
East Lansing travels to Okemos on Wednesday to close CAAC Blue play. East Lansing is 6-4-1 and 3-2 in CAAC Blue play.
The JV team picked up a 1-0 win over Grand Ledge.
