EAST LANSING- The Trojan boys soccer team picked up another CAAC Blue win over the Grand Ledge Comets on Monday night with a 3-0 win. The Trojans scored two goals in the first 10 minutes when Mahdi Mahdi and Robert Nystrom scored to give the Trojans a 2-0 lead. Nystrom assisted on the first goal and Olivier Richemond added the helper on the second.
East Lansing took that 2-0 lead into halftime and the Trojans celebrated the efforts of the seniors which included Paul Carney, Kai Francisco, Mahdi Mahdi, Alejandro Medina, Ryan Nichols, Suan Shafer, Olivier Richemond, Kosta Sarinopolous, Harry Tuerhong and Tawfeak Shetiah.
In the second half Mohamed Babele scored at the 20 minute mark to give East Lansing a 3-0 lead on an assist from Cade Moreno.
Nekko Criswell-Grinage picked up four saves in the net for the Trojans.
The Trojans are 11-0-2 and are now set up for a showdown with the Okemos Cheifs at Okemos for the CAAC Blue league title. The game will be at 6:30PM under the new lighted stadium that will be dedicated to Coach “Doc” Picone.
